A Cautionary Tale: My Frustrating 3-Week Wait for "Express" Glasses 😡
Let me tell you about my absolutely terrible online shopping experience, one that I hope serves as a cautionary tale for anyone considering where to buy their next pair of glasses. I was in a bind because my old glasses broke, so on March 30th, I placed an order and paid extra for 3-5 day express shipping, expecting a quick solution. But day 5 rolled around, and my order was still "in production." Day 10, still "in production." By day 11, I had to call, asking for a shipping refund because these glasses were STILL 6 days out from delivery, after paying for express! This company just doesn't seem to give a crap about its customers. It's truly terrible, terrible, terrible. I felt compelled to reach out to their customer service to understand why I paid for a service I wasn't receiving and why there was such a significant delay, and then to share my story with others.
Customer: Hi, I'm calling about order #[OrderNumber]. I placed it on March 30th and paid for express shipping, 3-5 days. It's now day 11, and the status is still 'in production.' My old glasses broke, and I desperately need these. CS Rep: I understand your frustration, sir/ma'am. Let me check that order for you. I see the express shipping was applied. It appears there was an unforeseen delay in the production process. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused, especially given your urgent need. Customer: An unforeseen delay? I paid extra for express shipping to avoid delays! Now you're telling me it's still 6 days out from delivery, making it almost three weeks in total. This is unacceptable. I want my express shipping fee refunded immediately. CS Rep: I completely understand your disappointment. You absolutely should not have to pay for a service you didn't receive. I can process a full refund for the express shipping charge of $10 right away. We are working to expedite your order and will send an update as soon as it ships. Customer: Well, thank you for refunding the shipping, but I still need my glasses. This whole experience has been incredibly frustrating.
The reason I left this review on the website is to hopefully prevent others from falling into the same trap of paying for services not rendered and experiencing such poor communication and delays.
